Why you should be happy that we started on Gotland
BRS was founded in 2011 by four people with a strong passion for technology and IT. When we were approached the same year to start laying fibre cable on Gotland, we were not exactly experts when it came to excavation. It was more the traffic inside the cables that was our thing. We were specialists in IT and had been mostly involved in running cables indoors, and at a much smaller scale.
The result was that we had to get our skates on and learn a lot in a very short time. This meant we had to learn everything about the whole process and also assume full responsibility for every stage from planning through to maintenance.
It worked out well. Today, we are among the leaders in fibre contracts in Sweden and run projects in a number of places, both in Sweden and abroad. The four pioneers who started BRS still work in the business, but today they have been joined by another 110 employees. We have also succeeded in opening offices in Skåne, Småland and Norrtälje as well as Estonia and Germany.
Another positive thing is that here on Gotland, we have long-term relationships in our DNA. We don’t just deliver. We follow up, help and provide support for all stages of the process. This is quite a natural phenomenon on an island that is way too small to have dissatisfied customers.
