NTT DATA has announced plans to develop a third data center campus in Berlin. The new campus covers 10.8 hectares and will support a planned capacity of 96MW of mission-critical IT data, spread across two data centers. The site is located 30 km west of Berlin, in the municipality of Brieselang. Construction is expected to start in 2025.
The new data center complements NTT DATA’s existing Berlin 1 and Berlin 2 campuses. The company has also operated a data center in Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam 1 Data Center, since 2019, with a capacity of 40 MW of IT power and an area of 16,000 m² of computer floor.
“Berlin is an important market in our growing portfolio and plays a crucial role in our expansion plans,” said Doug Adams, Chief Executive Officer and President at NTT Global Data Centers. “This development strengthens our presence and paves the way for us to enter other Tier 2 markets. It drives our continued growth and leadership in the data center industry as we continue to meet the needs of our customers.”
Just last month, the company announced the development of a new data center campus outside Paris, covering 14.4 hectares and supporting a planned 84MW capacity of mission-critical IT data across three data centers.
