Schleifenbauer has acquired a new fibre laser machine to increase their production capacity in their factory in ‘s-Hertogenbosch The Netherlands to meet the high demand for PDUs.
“We would like to further increase our production capacity and that includes an investment in our production line. We are therefore very happy to have purchased the new Durma Fiber laser machine from TUWI . With this machine, we can produce more PDUs per hour and increase our production capacity by 400%” so says Edward Goudsmits, Head of Operations and Supply Chain at Schleifenbauer.
Fibre lasers are known for their cutting speed and energy efficiency. Their radiation efficiency is almost twice as high as conventional lasers of the same power, and the wavelength of the laser light is smaller by a factor of 10. The Durma laser cutting machines use globally recognized components of high quality, and technological developments have made the fibre laser more accessible in terms of operation, use, service, and maintenance.
Energy saving
The new fibre laser machine aligns with Schleifenbauer’s green thinking in energy efficiency. The efficient energy consumption of the machine will also contribute to their Ecovadis score. The fibre laser consumes less electrical energy than conventional lasers of the same power, and in standby mode, the energy consumption of the entire system is negligible.
“Apart from increasing our production capacity, the new fibre laser machine also prepares our capabilities with the PDU. We can now engrave even more detailed logos of our customers on the PDUs. An important aspect as we have many private label orders,” So says Jos Janssen, Head of Sales and Marketing at Schleifenbauer.
